Highlights: • Today we had a sub teacher for a little bit - Macy • Today we gym and we did floor, bar, and climbing stations.  We did rotations - Sophie and Keegan • Today Ms. Bishop came over Friday Journals and while we were reading The Book With No Pictures - Brady • this morning, some of us finished up our Winter silhouette art and some of us did silent reading - Shaelyn • In recess, we couldn't go outside because it was a blue day, so we stayed inside and did Just Dance. - Manreet Reminders: • Mr. Duggan will be away for the next 1 to 3 weeks for medical reasons.  I look forward to coming back as soon as possible! • Next week Literacy night is on the 18th.  See below.

Highlights: • Today in inquiry, we went to Ms. Craig's class and we were doing arch bridges - Keegan • Today at gym, Ms. Hennick taught us how to do an egg roll, a log roll, a shoulder roll and a forward roll - Emily • In language arts, we finished Coyote Tales - Jack • In math, we did a problem about seeds.  We were starting to learn multiplication - Brooklyn Reminders: • Literacy night is next week!  It is on January 18th from 6:30 to 7:30.  See the earlier blog post for all the details.

Gymnastics!

Dear Parents, We have started our gymnastics unit in our regularly scheduled Physical Education classes. This unit will run until the end of January. Safety procedures are being carefully covered with each class. While students in elementary school are not expected to change their clothing for gym, I do talk to them about being dressed in preparation to participate. Please consider the following when sending your child to school:  • Clothing that allows freedom of movement (no special uniforms or outfits are required – sweats and a t-shirt work best).  • Loose fitting/baggy clothing may get caught on equipment when climbing.  • Tucking shirts in may help to prevent an accident.  • All jewelry that could get caught on equipment should be removed (left in classrooms or left at home). e.g. watches, rings, necklaces, etc...  • Students with long hair should have their hair tied back. Tying hair back with elastics is recommended.  • Students may wear shorts under clothing i

Highlights: -In Math, we refreshed our memories with subtraction. Next week we are going to be getting into multiplication - Brady -In gym, we were doing gymnastics - Keegan -Today we sat in a circle to practice story-telling.  We chose 3 characters and each person had to add a sentence - Sophie -In inquiry time, we made paper vases that had to be stable enough to hold flowers. - Shaelyn Reminders: - Welcome back to school!
